MEET RICHARD BURRES

MEET RICHARD BURRES

Rich is from Kennewick and manages Lamb Weston’s Ag Services – Sustainable Agriculture. The League is excited to have Rich and his many years of experience on the Board!

“I grew up working summers on my grandfather’s dryland wheat ranch in Central Oregon.  Bucking bales or changing hand-lines for neighbors was also typical summer work along with tending stock, fixing fence, and cleaning barns.  I worked for NorPac’s Hermiston facility processing vegetables for a number of years before leaving as Quality Assurance Manager there to take a position with Watts Brothers Farms.  This was a great opportunity where I was able to oversee quality assurance for their processing operation in Paterson, WA as well as the packaging facility in Boardman, OR.  Later harvest operations and trucking were added to my responsibilities until the entire operation was purchased by Lamb Weston.  Since that time, I have managed Sustainable Agriculture interacting with growers and farms across the US as well as with major customers.  In the past ten years at this post the broad exposure to growing and farm operations in different regions and various sizes has proved to be educational and rewarding.”

Former League board member, Matt Hawley changed positions at Lamb Weston and he is no longer involved with water. As a result, Matt resigned from the Board. The League thanks Matt for his dedication and service to the League. Richard (Rich) Burres was appointed to fill his open seat, and we are looking forward to working with Rich!
